Our story
Social Paw did not start as a pet sitting service. It started as an online pet store, a place where people could find good gear for their animals without wading through a sea of questionable products. We spent years on that: sourcing, testing, reviewing, and learning an enormous amount about what pet owners actually need.
That chapter grew and shifted over time. The store became more of a curated recommendation hub, which you can still find on our products page. And then something clicked. After all those years helping people find the right collar, the right food, the right crate, we wanted to actually be in the room with the animals.
So that is what Social Paw is now: in-home pet sitting and dog walking for north Austin and Williamson County. The pet-store chapter informed everything. We are not a weekend gig or a side hustle. We are people who have spent a long time in the pet world, and we brought everything we learned into this.
Years around pets changes how you see pet care
When you spend years sourcing and reviewing pet products, you develop a very specific kind of pickiness. You know what a good harness looks like. You know what quality food smells like. And you know what attentive, genuinely caring pet service looks like, because you have seen the other kind too.
That background is what makes Social Paw different from a sitter who is doing this between other things. We came into this already knowing how to evaluate what is good for a pet, what is marketing fluff, and what actually matters to an anxious dog or an independent cat. We just transferred all of that from products to people.
The result is a service that is a little more thoughtful, a little more prepared, and a lot more invested in getting it right.
Our mission is pretty simple
Make it so pet owners can actually enjoy their trips. No guilt, no dread, no checking the phone every hour. Just confidence that their pet is genuinely taken care of at home.
That means showing up on time, every time. Sending photos that prove we were actually there and your pet was actually happy. Treating your house with respect. Communicating clearly when something comes up. And being the kind of backup that makes you think "I forgot to worry about the dog" only at the end of the trip, when you are already home.
It also means being honest. We do not make promises we cannot keep. We do not invent credentials or pad our story with things that sound good. What you see is what you get, and what you get is people who genuinely care about the animals in their care.
The things we will not compromise on
Reliability first
A cancellation when your bags are packed is a nightmare. We keep backup coverage so your booking holds even if something unexpected comes up on our end.
Genuine affection for animals
This is not a logistics job to us. We actually like being around pets. The difference shows up in how we interact with your dog or cat during every visit.
Clear, honest communication
You get a real update after every visit. If something goes sideways, you hear about it immediately. We do not hide things or sugarcoat problems.
Respect for your home
We treat your space like it is someone else's, because it is. That means closing doors, keeping things where you left them, and leaving no trace except a happy pet.
Proper credentials
Insured, bonded, and background-checked. We do the paperwork that most casual sitters skip, because you should not have to wonder if you are covered.
The meet-and-greet
We will never show up at your door for the first time without having already met your pet. The free meet-and-greet is non-negotiable. It is just how you do this right.
We still like recommending good gear
The recommended-products side of Social Paw never went away. We still test and recommend things we believe in: food, toys, harnesses, enrichment stuff, the items that actually improve a pet's daily life.
If anything, running a pet care service has sharpened our opinions. You learn quickly which leashes hold up, which puzzle feeders a bored dog can actually beat, and which calming products are worth trying. That practical experience feeds directly back into our recommendations.
Some of our picks include affiliate links, which we disclose clearly. We only list things we would actually use. The affiliate disclosure page covers the details.
North Austin and Williamson County
We cover the corridor: Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, Jarrell, and the surrounding neighborhoods. Our home base is in Mayfield Ranch.
Not sure if we come to your area? Reach out and we will tell you straight.
Come meet us (and let your pet decide)
The free meet-and-greet is where this starts. No pressure, no commitment. We come over, your pet runs the interview, and we figure out if we are the right fit for your situation.
